Assessment Framework

This program incorporates a comprehensive assessment framework designed to:

  1. Track participant progress across multiple dimensions
  2. Evaluate program effectiveness using validated measures
  3. Inform exercise prescription through individualized data
  4. Document outcomes for stakeholders and research

Assessment Timeline

Assessments are conducted at three key timepoints:

  • Baseline (Pre-program): Before the first session
  • Mid-program (Week 6): At the end of the Development Phase
  • Post-program (Week 12): At the conclusion of the program

Assessment Categories

Physical Assessments

  • Functional Fitness: Simple tests of strength, endurance, and mobility
  • Anthropometric Measures: Basic measures like height, weight, and waist circumference (optional)
  • Activity Levels: Self-reported and objective measures of physical activity

Psychological Assessments

  • Quality of Life: Validated measures of physical, emotional, social, and school functioning
  • Exercise Self-Efficacy: Confidence in ability to engage in regular physical activity
  • Body Image and Satisfaction: Age-appropriate measures of body image
  • Motivation Type: Assessment of intrinsic vs. extrinsic motivation

Program Evaluation

  • Session Feedback: Participant ratings of individual sessions
  • Adherence Metrics: Attendance and participation data
  • Satisfaction Surveys: Overall program experience evaluation
  • Implementation Fidelity: Coach adherence to program protocols

Assessment Tools

The program uses a combination of:

  • Validated Questionnaires: Scientifically-tested measurement tools
  • Functional Tests: Simple physical assessments requiring minimal equipment
  • Self-Report Measures: Participant-reported experiences and behaviors
  • Observational Data: Coach observations of performance and participation

Data Management

All assessment data is:

  • Collected with appropriate consent/assent
  • Stored securely and confidentially
  • Used to personalize the program experience
  • Analyzed to improve program effectiveness
